The Department for International Development (DFID), part of the UK Government, manages Britain's aid and works to tackle world poverty.

From the start till December 2008 has DFID contributed £19.5 million to the fund. The BSF has now been extended with another 20 months, starting in January 2009 to allow for the continuation of some on-going health projects and to expand basic service delivery coverage. DFID’s contribution to the extension will be £9 million. Netherlands and Norway have signed delegated cooperation agreements for respectively £6.5 and £3.7 million. Canada joined the fund in March 2009 with another £4.2. DFID is the lead donor.

The objective of Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs development policy is to fight poverty and bring about social justice through a focus on the environment and sustainable development; peacebuilding, human rights and humanitarian assistance; oil and clean energy; women and gender equality; good governance and the fight against corruption; and the Millennium Development Goals.
The Canadian International Development Agency's (CIDA) aim is to reduce poverty, promote human rights, and support sustainable development. The measure of CIDA's success lies in its contribution to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and Canada’s broader international policy objectives.
